Lovely piece By L. Day
I - REALLY LIKE - this cross. It's smooth, rounded, and polished on top to sides. The back side does not have rounded edges and has a duller (not polished) finish. In case you missed the description by the seller, it is stainless steel and not sterling silver.
There is one caveat, and it is not the cross itself, but pairing the cross with a similar color chain. Being stainless steel, it's finish resembles chrome plating and not that of the lighter color 925 sterling silver. So be sure to purchase the appropriate necklace to match the HUE (color).
Unfortunately, I'm a novice in jewelry and ignorant in the types of silver. So, while I am on that topic of HUE; I ordered an "18 inch ITALIAN STERLING SILVER box necklace" from Amazon (the Metal Factory) to put the cross on. It happen to be the same [chrome] color as the cross, but the length was undesirable. I went back online to purchase a "22 inch ITALIAN STERLING SILVER box necklace". The second chain was not the color of the first chain and didn't match the cross. (BOTH chains were nickel free.) I went back online to view the Metal Factory 18" chain. There was a drop down arrow in the description (which I did not initially use) that states RHODIUM PLATED.
Reading up on Rhodium plating, it is usually put on white gold, therefor Rhodium plated sterling silver resembles white gold. I am now on the web again purchasing a THIRD necklace of Rhodiumplate to match the cross.
Learn from my error. You have to purchase a Rhodium plated silver chain to match the color of the cross.love it By Cece V
Not gaudy, a good fit for males who don't want to be flashy or showy, weight is light enough for a medium or thinner chain. Would have liked for seller to be more specific with dimensions.
