Horrible Service! Buyer Beware! By Ryan Cavanaugh
I ordered this necklace on September 15th, in plenty of time to use it as a prop for a Mad Men Halloween costume. When I recieved it, the pen part of the necklace was damaged and unusable. I contacted the company and they sent me a return envelope so I could send it back for repairs. Being that it was the first week of October I told them that I did not want to send it in if they could not guarantee that I would have it back by Halloween, and they assured me I would have it. On October 21 they left a message on my husbands cellphone stating that they could not figure out what was wrong with the item. I called them back 2 days later. First they told me that they couldnt find my order, then they told me that they sent it back to me on 10/20 (obviously that was not true as they called on 10/21), then they told me that when I sent the pen in it went directly to the repair department and it came back up to them from there, and that's why they couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. The girl then assured me that they had mailed it back on either the 23rd or the 24th, so I should definitely have it by Halloween. Well, it's November 4 and I still don't have it (It's not coming- these people are so disorganized they don't know what they are doing). Now I'm out $20 + shipping and I had to buy a similar product to replace the one I didn't have for Halloween. This company stole my money and lied to me several times. I was excited for this pen to arrive since for the price I expected a nice, heavy pen that writes like a quality pen. But I was disappointed when I received a lightweight pen that writes like a cheap one. Also, I was most disappointed, when I saw that the retail price on the tag was 4.00 less than I was charged. So, I wasn't impressed once I realized I was gouged by Ice Carats when the manufacturer had priced it much lower. I own a jewelry boutique myself and know what the markup on jewelry is, so there is no reason to mark it up another 4 bucks. Really bad business to leave the tag on guys! Plus what they charged for shipping was inflated. It could be shipped first class 1.75. But I needed the gift so I didn't send it back. My bad. I guess the company banks on this happening. I don't leave bad reviews but they kept hounding me to leave a review, so you get my honest review guys.Gave me a rash By Katie
I absolutely love my pen necklace. It's so convenient in the office.
However, it's not without its faults: the black finger-grip part is wearing off. The gold is showing through. It only took about a week of use for the color to come off.
Second, it gave me a really bad rash on my neck, in an exact arch where the chain lies. I'm not allergic to any metals I know of, and it started when I got this. It might be crappy cheap metal or the abrasion on the chain on my neck skin, but either way, the pen caused it. I'm going to be replacing the chain with something better so it'll go away.
The pen is hella cute and I get nothing but compliments on it.
