I needed a thick gold plated (I am not made of money) chain for my wardrobe that would stand out from the norm, and this definitely appeared to fit the bill. I am very familiar with this style of steel link, as I own a nearly identical link chain wrought in Tungsten Carbide. It is a very rugged and unique style of link.
It is a nice chain, but the ample thickness gives it a borderline unrealistic, costume jewelry appearance that is not nearly as apparent with the silver tone versions of this chain. While it IS costume jewelry, I desire something a little more realistic and understated. I also wasn't crazy about the alternating brushed links. This effect works well with the silver tone-steel version of this chain available on other sites, but it doesn't work as well with a gold hue.
Still, as of right now, you will not find a gold plated chain in this style of link anywhere else on the market (I looked long and hard)
