The 30" chain is great because it's long enough for him to have the i.d.under his shirt if he doesn't want anyone to see it. This item was a gift. The description was right on target. It brought out a good shine, not too bright, just the right amount. My friend loved it. Bought the necklace for a pendant plus depending on the length of the chain, it can also be worn by itself... usually the chains that is included with the purchase of a pendant is rather thin. I ordered two because I needed a couple of short length ones. Very nice and showy and the pendants loops that I have so far have slipped over the clasps. If you have pendants that have tiny loops I don't know if they would work but the lobster clasps look about the same as my others and they all work so I am not worried.
